在坦桑尼亚，任何经过合法注册取得商业经营执照的当地公司均可以同时申请进出口执照，独立从事进出口贸易。对于经营某些特定货物（例如：烟酒、药品、石油、军火和爆炸品以及矿产、林产和野生动物）等进出口的公司还需要在指定的管理部门进行登记并获得特定的营业许可。
凡从事在坦桑尼亚政府规定的特定商品范围之内的货物进出口的公司，除本身要求有经营这种货物的营业许可之外，每从事一笔这种货物的进出口业务，也都要到相应的管理部门进行单独的申请，并凭批准证书在海关报关放行。
对于坦桑尼亚标准局（TBS）规定有质量标准限制的货物，则必须在该商品出关前取得（TBS）的质量认证，如果没有质量认证也无法进口。
Tanzania commodity import and export license
In Tanzania, any local company that has legally registered and obtained a business license can apply for an import and export license at the same time and engage in import and export trade independently. Companies engaged in the import and export of certain specific goods (such as tobacco, alcohol, medicine, oil, arms and explosives, minerals, forest products and wildlife) also need to register with the designated administrative department and obtain specific business licenses.
All companies engaged in the import and export of goods within the scope of specific commodities specified by the Tanzanian government, in addition to their own business license for operating such goods, they must also make a separate application to the corresponding management department for each import and export business of such goods, and declare and release at the customs with the approval certificate.
For goods with quality standard restrictions specified by Tanzania Bureau of standards (TBS), the quality certification of TBS must be obtained before the goods leave the customs. If there is no quality certification, they cannot be imported.
